Offline programming

Post by martincka9668 » Sat Apr 20, 2019 11:34 am

Hello, I'm new to CMM Manager and I have had no training on this software. I'm trying to write a program offline. How do I make a manual alignment on a CAD model? Can I take manual points on the cad model? Thanks

When programming offline, there is an essential step. You must "Sync Part Reference Frame" prior to programming anything offline. Then the manual alignment step can be added and it will not ask you to take the points when inserting the manual alignment step.

There is an offline programming guide in the help directory C:\Program Files\Nikon\CMM-Manager 3.8 SP1\Help. There are also several YouTube videos and a few topics already on the forum on this topic.

There are 2 ways to do this.

1) Use a macro. If the coordinates on the model are correct you do the macro then go directly into picking features through the orange icons (2d and 3d)

2) Under the features tab where you see 2d/3d orange icons, you will find a small obscure box. Click there and you have the option to do a manual feature with the joystick AS YOU RUN the program. It builds the features as if you were online. This method you need to for example, pick the plane, then alignment then level as you would online.

Just remember as medupriest has said, sync part ref frame before you do. This will match up the machine and part coordinates. If not I have seen the CMM try and move physically to where the cad model location where it is when you imported it in.
