Password protectiion?

Post by drddan » Fri Jan 18, 2019 6:21 pm

Hi all! Newbie to this forum.
I did a search for my Q and nothing came up.
We have CMM-Manager version 2.5
My question
Is there a way to apply password protection to Projects?
We have both Quality and machine operators that use the CMM, with operators running only programs.(supposedly)
We would like to lock out operators, from having access to Projects, so the projects are not accidentally edited.
If anyone can give some advise on this subject, it would be very helpful

Thanks in advance
Dan

Yes this is possible in version 2.5. According to the release notes this was added in version 1.2.0.8. Starting in version 3.4 these permissions can also be applied globally as well as file by file basis.

I do not remember the exact location of this setting in version 2.5 (new ribbon tab UI since then) but look for a Menu drop down option named "File Security" probably in the System menu... If you cannot find it just search your Help File for "File Security"

... or you simply save the files for your operators as ".prg" instead of ".cmp". PRG-Files cannot be edited. You may keep the original CMP-Files in another Folder, where the operators do not have access to.
