Probe circular move between hit points

Post by tickertack » Wed Nov 07, 2018 1:31 pm

I am measuring a round groove with width only 0.200 inch.
How to set probe path to move circularly, to avoid crashing with the wall when probe moving to the next hitting point.
How to set up probe path when checking narrow space features.

Is this CAD taught? If so, the probe will automatically move up and then back into groove between each measured point. For non-CAD programming you will need to add these points manually.

Circular move is only supported for PH20 and SP25. Due to retrofit nature of CMM-Manager, mainly since ALL controllers do not support this type of motion, we do not try to offer mixed capabilities. Many of our customers want to exchange CMM-Manager programs from one CMM to another, so having circular move on one controller but not another would prove to be quite problematic. Some day, when all controllers that CMM-M supports allow for circular moves, we will add this. Until then, please also check preferences for Circular moves options in Path Creation preferences. This option will approximate circular motion by adding additional linear motions between each measured point.
