Max dev. - Min dev on cloud to cad report

Post by Trosado » Thu Mar 05, 2015 11:43 am

I am trying to figure out how get my report to show: max dev. - min dev. of the 3D point in my cloud to surface report. I need to add it on the report for the customer. As of now I export to excel and add the line to every report. About 50-100 a week. It would be nice to have CMM manger just add the max - min. my tolerance is +0.024/-.005 with 0.018 refinement.

Thank you

You can access some settings here in Preferences>Report>More>Cloud to Surface / Curve settings

Just Check the Min/Max options as shown below.

I have that selected. My report did max and min. I want to get CMM Manager 3.4 to do x-y=Z and report the results. I do not know how to input equations in the program.

Here is what I currently have.

It sounds to me like you want to report the RANGE of the min to max.

Yes, I want to take the cloud-to-suface Max and Min, then subtract them to get the range.
Max= x
Min= y
Range = z

So, I want to add x-y=z to my report.

Here is what I tried. I do not know how to call for the right info.

max2 = GetReportInfo("Cloud-to-CAD Deviation #4", "Max. Dev",6)
min1 = GetReportInfo("Cloud-to-CAD Deviation #4", "Min. Dev",7)

MyDev = abs(max2 - min1)

I am going to defer you to Nate or someone who has more vb script experience than myself.

Do you have a copy of the attached file? It has the ordinal values for features.

Just check the "Profile" tolerance checkbox in the Cloud to CAD Report dialog... This will give you range of 3D, the range of other axes are meaningless. I cannot imagine where the X,Y,Z components would be useful.

Nate, the "profile" is basically the range doubled.
They could take the "profile" and divide it by 2 I suppose?

This does not help. I have a +0.022 to -0.005 tolerance with a 0.018 refinement. That mean the MAX and MIN have to be within the +0.022 to -0.005 tolerance. The Range of the max and min have to be less than 0.018. This is why I need MAX – MIN = RANGE.

I am trying to get the correct call outs for the VB script.

Does not work: maxdev = GetReportInfo( "Cloud-to-CAD Deviation", "Max. Dev", 3 )
