What is the Zone size set to? I suggest starting at 0.5 mm and reducing until you cannot get points, then increase to a reasonable size.

Note: You will never get points when holding down the trigger unless the probe is within the specified Zone.

i think it was a zone issue i called customer support and they recommended that as well, however i played with the zone before and it didnt work. The thing i had different on this setup is i added the watch window that was hidden previously. Does not having the watch window open make guided measurement not work?

No... The Watch Window being hidden / displayed will not effect the device. Can you measure other features by traditional scanning? i.e. Measure Circle and select the Scan option vs. the Trigger option

Maybe this is an issue where your device is not scanning... period.
