Re: Solved- Running a Program - what really happens?

And...if you use "Verify" when you program on-line with cad make sure to go to... PREFERENCES > GENERAL > SIMULATE & VERIFY and turn OFF "Update Actual Feature" This will ensure that the ACTUALS WILL BE EQUAL TO THE NOMINALS while you are writing your program. This will keep your from possibly havin...

Re: CAD Conversion Module

1. Go to the CMM Manager download page and download your version. (don't run it, just save to a location on your pc)
2. Unzip the file.
3. Run "CadConverterInstaller_x64.exe"

Re: touch-offs are shanking out after tool retrieval from rack.

The tip correction plane has its own LOCATE procedure.

Hover over the plane in UCC Server and right click and select LOCATE. This should fix it.

Re: Contour G2

If you don't need scanning, there is an RDS adaptor that will hold a tp20 and allow CMM Manager to work just fine. We converted a scanning Calypso zeiss with a C99 controller to a touch trigger CMM Manager machine a few years back. On Zeiss website: RDS-Adapter plate/Renishaw probeTP20/TP6 Item No.:...

Re: True position report for hex

ASME Y14.5-2009 also specifies in section paragraph 2 that you can interpret position requirements with a "surface interpretation" so long as the limits of size are maintained. In other words you are allowed to figure out the minimum and maximum boundaries for the feature and use profile to ...

Re: Reporting Position (GD&T)

What standard is this drawing to? If the title block says ASME Y14.5 then the feature control frames are not written correctly. I'm not sure what the European standard requires. In 14.5 the datums in the lower portions of the feature control frame need to be in the same order as in the ones above th...

Re: Add Move vs Get Tip

This can be a frustrating thing sometimes with PH20. I have also seen that adding a Get Tip command before a PH20 measurement will help get the probe to measure the way I want. For those times when the Get Tip method does not work, I will create a feature to act as an obstruction then add it to cad ...

Re: Program stops in middle of Loop

I hope someone else out there is cleverer than me but here is my two cents: I prefer your looping method for a part like this but CMM Manager may not allow you to do it this way. It is odd that your program is hung-up but if you do get past that roadblock you will discover a problem with syncing. Th...
