Re: false hits

Hi shytown, 2 things... The tension on a TP2 can be adjusted if you unscrew it and insert an ?m2? hex wrench down the shaft. Additionally, from the machine property window in CMM-M you can set up trigger mode for "verify" so that when you measure points, you must verify that your points were deliber...

Re: Cant get TOUCH PROBE SCAN - AREA to work correctly

Touch scan is a nice idea but ultimately you will have to compare it to something. For that reason I would avoid that route. There are a few ways to approach this and succeed but if you can get a CAD model you'll be able to do it a lot faster and you won't need a great deal of skill to do it. If a s...

Re: Cant get TOUCH PROBE SCAN - AREA to work correctly

1. Are you sure the radio button for OUTSIDE DIAMETER is selected? 2. Why are you having to move the probe to a location adjacent to the start point? It could be CMM-M is trying to go to the safe zone before measuring the feature and crashing through the part on the way. 3. Are you using CAD? 4. If ...

Re: Cylindrical stylus

Hi constant11, To do this you need to have 2 probe assemblies defined in the Probe Assembly dialog box... The first one must be spherical (you will use this one to calibrate reftip so as to setup the "zero" location of the cal sphere. Using the "ADD" button you can then create the cylinder probe bec...

Re: Threaded cylinder

You have to extract the raw points out of the circles first. Otherwise you only have 3 points at the centers of the circles.

Look here:
Ribbon > Features tab > Construct features section > Expan button > Extract raw data

Re: Variables in CMM Manager

You are right, VBS is the way to do it. There are some great postings from Nate on parametric programming. Poke around a bit in the advanced area.

Multiple External Commands

Has anyone had any success doing this? I'm trying to create a CMM Manager "Switchboard" program that calls different CMM Manager programs based upon the user input. Running multiple External Commands always crashes but even if they didn't I don't see a switch to run an external command and then re-e...

Re: Using VB script to select and execute an operation group

Thanks Nate,

As usual, you guys have the best support out there.

WOW! Command line switches. This will give me a lot to play with. I never would have found this on my own. Whoever thought of this was a genius.

Using VB script to select and execute an operation group

Is there a way I can get my hooks into an operation group? I have a pretty convoluted program that I would like to break into smaller chunks but operation planner will only allow me to RE execute program portions. My goal is this... -align -user defined question "do you want to inspect op 1, op 2, o...
