Re: How to properly report Cloud to CAD.

Yes. You do need to re-sync with most types of alignments when it is your second. We automatically sync the CAD with your first determinate reference frame, but it is up to you to do it on subsequent alignments. If you wanted to change your part coordinate system to something that isn't your CAD ref...

Re: Measuring and printing HOA (Height Over All)

Add a "report distance between" step in your program and select the two feature and the thing you want to report. Feature report is for more generic reporting. This can be done from the "report ribbon tab" and then you can see it in the "report database tab". adding report steps to your program from...

Re: Disc stylus with ruby balls

You can probably use those to measure groove widths/locations, but it will involve a math function in a VB script to get the compensated point location. A star tip will be both easier and more accurate. It does not need to be a complete star either if you have size constraints. Whether you use the d...

Re: Min/ Max difference formula for measured point sets

This can be done without VB scripting or with VB scripting. The non-VB route is easier of course. non-VB: Measure the series of points as a cloud Do a two point construction looking for High/Low points from a cloud (this will take some strategy in finding features or machine axis that are furthers/c...

Re: RPS Alignment

I don't usually do this, especially if there are inexperienced operators that will be running the part. If material gets between the holding fixture and the part, that will of course change the measurement. If you have a motorized probe head, I suggest articulating the head to A90 and physically tou...

Re: Running programs on different CMMs

Not at all. The paths are developed from the stylus tip, so you can use similar configurations as long as the paths will still function for you. Your like process will be just to open the project, change the probe assembly, perform an Align Part, Save, Press play. I would suggest backing up the file...

Re: PHC10-3Plus Error by loading CAD

I imagine the CAD loading is just a coincidence. It sounds like we are just losing communication with the Probe head. I would check the PHC and make sure there aren't any loose cables and that it is not in an error state. You could also try sending helpdesk a comm log. Instructions on how to generat...
