You also do not need to re-path when just using a different probe. The path is from the tip, so selecting even a different probe should not cause issues.

If you would like to eliminate the tilt form the calculation, construct a centroid point of the slot. Bi-lateral position will then only show the single axis deviation with no tilt.

Please load that project file, then create a helpdesk file (go to the pearl in the upper left hand corner, and select "Create Helpdesk File"). Please send me those files. It could be many things, and this will be the easiest way fro me to determine what it is.
