Re: Star probe questions

So I have to create A0B0 5 times for each of the star styli changing the index each time? And then treat them as individual probes? Update: Once I defined the 5 sets it generated paths much easier, but I got a lot of uncertain flags when switching to the different index tips inside a part. For refer...

Star probe questions

I'm trying to setup a star probe for the first time, after finding the components for one lying in a box in the corner, but when I go to calibration A0B0 tip (PH10) the only thing that is calibrated is the bottom, or straight, tip and not the "star" part of the star probe. http://i.imgur.com/ZZ4cVfQ...

Re: Dist. between Cylinder and AXIS

Have you tried creating a line "Through a point, parallel to a line" using your origin point and selecting the axis you wish to mirror?

Re: suggestion for disabling

Usually I save a ref copy and delete the incomplete features. This removes all later references to that feature.
I use the disable popups to find all the references of a feature to systematically change or replace them.

Re: Align to Two Dowel Holes Not in Line?

@Ryan/@mhochkins1 Maybe I'm mistaken but how do you go from offset align to a center point since the center point is not on the line between -b- and -c-? From my understand offset align is only useful for rotation control when the datum is not on center line and controlled by a fixed X-Y value from ...

Re: Vectoring my machine

Assuming you have a good clearance and the part's reference frame is complete, I would probable use your inputs but then use a combination rotate alignment ->set variable, create point ->set variable->set origin, and measure feature point->nominal->set variable to have a modular radius check

Re: Align to Two Dowel Holes Not in Line?

If -B- is (5.6178,0) and -C- is (-5.5964,.4896) for positions then their midpoint is (.0107, .2448) from the origin. If you are then centered on the midpoint and aligned to -B-C- axis the origin moves to (-.000012,-.245034). So my solution would be, Measure -B- Measure -C- Create midpoint Set origin...

Re: Roll Call. I am new and am wondering how many users com

Howdy. I probably fall into the bit of both category, I think. I enjoy seeing the problems other user's post as a challenge to do something outside the norm's of my programs, and hopefully learn something I can use myself later or revamp a program. But I usually only get to stop by during a long run ...

Re: Renishaw PEL extensions

If the unexpected touch is before the probe hits the sphere for the first time, the large assembly may be causing a vibration that is triggering the sensor during the first move down. One the the PAA1 modules on one of our CMM's is more sensitive to that it and has to be run slower for some extended...

Re: Cut Plane Views

Not sure if this is exactly what you are looking for, but you can build a CAD generated Curve from a cross section. Under display ribbon, CAD-> Editor, and under Curve tab can click "Cross Section" and define what cross section of the CAD you want to create and when you hit create cross section, you...
