Re: Tip Calibration

As you are investigating this, it wouldn't hurt to check your definitions too... 1. Make sure that in the Probe Assy dialog box, the stylus is defined in mm as being the nominal 2mm. 2. Find the Calibration sphere definition and make sure that it is defined as being the actual calibrated size. RIBBO...

Re: Reporting Surface Profile using Cloud to Cad Best Fit

If you are asking what is it that you should write on your report... 1. For me, I prefer to write down the "Dev" value times 2 (in this case .114). I have met other people that perceive that answer to be max deviation - min deviation. 2. Either way, ASME Y14.5 doesn't specify how the results should ...

Re: RPS POSSIBLE SOLUTIONS

I get confused when the cad coordinate system is way out in space. You might be happier if you move your cad coordinate system to the cad model before you start doing this alignment. That said...from your description, I would expect this to be the solution: X Y Z SPHERE 1 O O X SPHERE 2 X X X SPHERE...

Re: Cloud to CAD and No results after verify

In your preferences, you have a little checkbox: "Update Actual Feature" turned off right now. Be aware that this little checkbox can be very important. I think of it as "the first of the 2 most important buttons in CMM Manager". 1. If you report as you go then turning this on won't hurt you at all....

I am not familiar with the ISO standard but from what you are describing, I suspect this is your answer: Tolerance = -0.2 to -0.1

Re: Rename probe assy

Nate is on to it...there is no way in UCC Server to rename. You can solve your problem by creating a new tool in server using the component that is already being used for the incorrectly named tool. After that CMM-M will just read in the new Tool name (v3.7 and newer) then you should be able to cali...

Re: Reporting Composite Position

If you are going to use auto-alignment fill-in tools it may be a good idea for you to test them for your application first to make sure they do what you are expecting. I have learned not to trust them (not in any software, yet) and tend to think of them as unicorns. For your part: If your feature co...
